          Early Life and Education

          Zainul Abedin was born on December 29, 1914, in Mymensingh, East Bengal (now Bangladesh).

          His childhood spent by the Brahmaputra River greatly influenced his artistic style and lifelong inspiration. In 1933, he enrolled at the Government School of Art in Calcutta.
