          You may not know her name, but you’ll know her furniture. Bethan Gray, who’s one of the leading speakers at Cardiff Design Festival this year, talks wood and winning awards with Abbie Wightwick

          Bethan Gray may not be a household name but her furniture is in countless homes around the country.

          The award-winning Cardiff-born designer’s pieces are among the best sellers on the high street, from John Lewis to Habitat.

          Her ranges include the Noah table at John Lewis, the Hana tallboy for Habitat and the chunky, refectory-style wooden tables and shelves the store has made its trademark.

          She also worked on the original M&S Sonoma line and says she still gets “a kick” seeing the range, which she worked on as a recent graduate in the late 1990s.

          Today she Bethan is well known across design circles.
